Latest News - August 2000

The CDB has welcomed the decision by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons NOT to press for Britain to sign up to the controversial European Convention for the Protection of Pet Animals.

However, Home Office Minister Mike O'Brian has said that he will be considering Britains accession to the Convention later on in 2000. He will hopefully take note and recognise the strength of feeling amongst all sections of the dog world. The Government must ensure that Britain steers well clear of this piece of unwelcome European legislation.
